Well, here we go again! Michigan's Governor extended this stay at home order until May 15th! Just fine and dandy; I know it must be done, but what really ticks me off is that one of the non-essential public places AKA the golf courses are being allowed to open - as long as people continue to practice the social distancing.
Why does it tick me off? Because Michigan alone has an all time high of people on unemployment! If anything should reopen, it should be businesses to get people back to work; as long as they continue to practice social distancing and using all of the other guidelines set by the CDC. Businesses all over the state are, and have already set policies in place to open safely, and to maintain that safety going forward by making face masks mandatory to wear during the entire day, everyday; this is just one of many policies set forth.
Opening golf courses - first of all, with most of the state out of work, who on earth can even afford to play Golf? It's probably the most expensive sport to play! The unemployment checks people get in Michigan aren't big enough to help raise a family, let alone play a round of Golf, and of course there's the issue of me not being a fan of golf! If the Governor wants to open recreational facilities, why not add batting cages to help baseball fans; we like to hit balls too, and many of us can hit a baseball a heck of a lot further than golfers can hit those little balls!
All joking aside, if this state can open up the non-essential places, they can get people back to work so we can start healing in every way, and that includes our economy.
