I know everyone is sick of this wrecking ball of a virus, but I have to vent; I know I'm not alone on that emotion!
Jeff and I are just a mere two people in the universe who must take the more extreme cautions against contracting this stupid virus; because of his Kidney disease, which obviously makes him more of a huge risk in getting it. I don't mean to squawk, but this stinks; especially for him! His life has already been plagued with restrictions from his own disease and now this; no visitors are to be in our home until this virus is controlled. Not that we have a lot of visitors, but it's just one more restriction for him.
Though I feel this virus has been blown way out of proportion; we won't take chances on his life. I also agree that the media are the culprits in causing this hysteria! Yes, it's a nasty virus, but I have yet to hear someone shout from the rooftop about how much they enjoy their illness or disease! People die from the common flu virus in staggering numbers all the time, why are things so different with this one; besides it being respiratory? We should always have a daily habit to protect ourselves from any and all illnesses and diseases; this hysteria is ridiculous, as all people should just use common sense to take care of themselves daily! Washing the hands should be done all the time; not just during a fast moving and intruding disease, in fact, if people did more washing the hands and bodies, we would have less nasty viruses! I think most of us can recall being taught to wash our hands and bodies at a very young age.
Again, I'm not saying this virus isn't horrendous, but it shouldn't be causing people to go buy hundreds of rolls of toilet paper; only to leave the rest of NONE! I've never heard of a respiratory virus that affects the end we sit on! What's even more ridiculous is that people feel that this is heading towards everything in society being shut down completely; so how in the world are a majority of us supposed to make a living by doing that? Modern society stops for nothing! Stopping the world may have happened back in the days of John Boy Walton, because they didn't have the means and technology to survive this crap, but we do! Just take the simple precautions and most of us will be fine; start by washing your hands to shut the news off!
